Hello and welcome to anyone who’s reading this post!

“Angel’s Friends” is an Italian comic book series that (as far as I’m aware) was never translated into English… until today!

Now, I don’t speak Italian which is a very big, very important declaimer. “I” translated the comics by running the text through Google Translate, however, if you’ve ever actually used Google to translate something, then you’ll know that their translations range from “passable” to “that is in no way a natural English sentence, but I kind of understand what you mean” to “literal word vomit.” So most of the text needed extra “modifications” in order to sound like something that someone would actually say.

Due to the manner in which this was translated, some of the text is still kind of ~awkward~ because I was trying to keep it closer to the original Italian (or at least, what Google said was the original Italian) and some of the text isn’t exactly a 1 to 1 translation because Google DID NOT give me an actual English sentence to work with so I just had to guess. However, the comics are still very much readable! I may not be confident in the wording of some of the speech bubbles BUT the overall story is still there.

There are a few things though that I thought that I should clarify/add some additional information for due to various reasons which I’ll be leaving under the cut:

The 12th issue was posted here in Italian in case you wanna link it in your pinned post!!

Thanks but unfortunately that link doesn’t have the full issue 12, just one page that they claim is from issue 12. (Which it could be!)

The source that I got all of my comics from also had that page but it was simply called “02.jpg”, the only two places I’ve seen that page posted online are the source I listed and the Facebook page you linked. The Facebook page claims that it’s from issue 12 and the file I found didn’t tie it to any particular issue. Like I said, that page could very well be from issue 12, but since we still can’t find the full issue, I can’t say for 100% sure.

I did already translate that page though and you can find it on my post with other loose pages that I’m not sure which issues they come from.

Part 2 | Part 3

Comic list

The source that I got all of my original comics from had this issue in the file. It was titled “BW17” so I’m guessing that this is suppose to be issue number 17. The official comic was cancelled after issue 14, however there had to have been other issues in the works before it actually got shut down, and after reading the comics that we do have that would totally make since. The comics were clearly setting up to an ending that was never fully realized. This must be one of those unfinished works and I thought that I’d share it even though it’s just the inks without any words.

These pages were also in the file where I got my comic scans from.

They obviously aren’t in order, and probably come from different issues, but I thought that I’d translate them and upload them all the same just so that all of the “pre-rebooted” content of Angel’s Friends could be available in English.

If I had to guess, I’d say that page “2” (on this image set) was from issue 15, because it seems to closely connect with issue 14.

For whatever reason, page 3 says to see issue 14 for context, but we have issue 14 and the events that it’s mentioning never happened in that issue so I don’t know what it’s talking about. (It’s probably a typo.)

It does, however, seem to connect with “issue 17” (the issue that was just the inks) or what I’m assuming is issue 17. Because in that issue, we actually see the crew going into a warehouse while they’re being sneaked up on by a revived.

Page 4 might be from the same issue as page 3, where after finding the teachers tied up, they try to save them.

Page 5 I’m guessing has to be from one of the latest issues that we have pages to, since it futures Malachi and Vera together. The “just inks issue 17” showed Malachi too nervous to speak to Vera, (or at least that’s what I’m assuming is happening, since there’s no words) and if I’m right about pages 3 and 4 being from an issue/issues after “issue 17” then we’d still need at least another issue to set up the context for Malachi being injured in the first place, as well as some more context of Raf thinking about using her projection on Vera.

It’s crazy to think that we have inks for an entire issue and pages that were fully colored with the text added that never got released.

It makes you wonder how much of the comic was actually completed that just never got an opportunity to be enjoyed by the public.
